Earlier HEC announced abolishing of 2 year degree programs:

The notification issued by HEC read, “[The two-year bachelors] degrees shall not be recognised by the HEC for students enrolled in these programmes after December 31, 2018.”

Students enrolled in two-year programmes before December 31, 2018 will be allowed to complete their BA and BSc degrees until December 2020. However, those enrolled later will not be granted their degrees.

"For the avoidance of doubt, students admitted to two-year post-higher secondary or equivalent programs after December 31, 2018 shall have been and shall continue to be admitted to Associate Degree programmes."

However,

Now HEC has agreed to extend the two year degree program till 2022 , meaning that those students enrolled in BA/Bcom or any other 2 year program will now be able to get their degree from HEC and it will be a recognised degree and students would be able to benefit from it.

BA/BCOM and other 2 year degree program extends

Bcom/ba and any other 2 year degree program based gradutes are also eligible to apply for CSS, in case you do not know of this.

Overall it is a very good news to students for now.
