After the latest meeting of education and health ministers at the National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC)., Federal Education Minister Shafqat Mehmood on Wednesday told the media regrading updates on the schools closure.

Shafqat Mehmood said that the educational institutions which were closed earlier due to high spread of corona virus, will remain closed till April 11. While the Provincial authorities in Gilgit Baltistan and Azad Kashmir are empowered to take the final decision in this regard.

The exams of Ninth, Matric and Intermediate will be held as per the schedule announced by the respective boards.

The education minister said that the government would hold a meeting with the CAIE officials to see whether exams can be postponed or not.

The education and health ministers are likely to hold another meeting on April 7, 2021 to review the whole situation and make appropriate decision.

The federal minister further emphasized that by educational institutes, he means all educational institutions, including schools, colleges, religious seminaries and universities.

However, Sindh Education Minister Saeed Ghani said shortly after the meeting that schools should remain open in cities where the pandemic is under control.

Murad Raas disclosed areas where schools will be closed in his tweet,

The total number of Covid active cases has risen by 100 percent in Pakistan in the last three weeks as per NCOC data.
